I've been comparing this against the uptime monitors I've used before and I'm a bit puzzled. The tag description promises every-minute checks, response time, SSL certificate and domain expiry monitoring, and alerts in 13+ places, all for free.
In my experience those are exactly the features the other services keep behind a paid plan:
- UptimeRobot: free tier is 5-minute checks, and 1-minute intervals plus the nicer alert integrations are paid.
- Pingdom: no real free tier at all, it's paid only after the trial.
- Better Stack (Better Uptime): the free plan is capped, and shorter check intervals and more monitors cost money.
- StatusCake: 1-minute checks and most of the integrations sit on the paid tiers.
So how is Link Robins able to give all of that away for free? Is there a catch I'm missing, like a limit on the number of monitors, or is it free for now while it's new and going to be paid later? I'd just like to understand the model before I move my monitoring over.
